5.1 ha new forests will be afforest until the end of 2021 in the State Hunting area Balchik within the project Life for Eagle’s Habitats. 2.9 ha have been already afforest with saplings of Quercus cerris during the summer. This is three belts in the land of the village of Priaspa and although the summer was very humid and the area is covered with grass they are in excellent condition.
The rest of the area, 2.2 ha, is situated near the village of Seltse. The preparation of the soil has been completed and the afforestation will be held with acorns, bought from the State Forestry Varbitsa. Our colleagues are waiting for the rains to stop so the work can begin.

At the same time with the autumn afforestation the cutting of the dried out ash belts is held. The work has been completed with the half of the belts, and it will be finalized till the end of the month. During the autumn of 2022 in the place of the removed belts we will afforest tree species, typical for North-eastern Bulgaria and more resistant to the changed climate conditions.
