Eng. Rosen Raichev

Deputy Executive Director, Executive Forest Agency (EFA)

Eng. Rosen Raichev holds a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry and a Master’s degree in Forest Management Planning from the University of Forestry in Sofia. He also earned a Master’s degree in Accounting and Control from the University of Veliko Tarnovo “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”.

Throughout his career, Eng. Raichev has been involved in the implementation of numerous international and national projects. Notably, he contributed to the LIFE project “Conservation and restoration of 11 Natura 2000 riparian and wetland habitats in 10 sites in Bulgarian forests,” which was recognized as the best nature conservation project of 2015 by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment (GD ENVI).

His professional journey began in 2002 at the State Forestry Area – Zemen, where he progressed through roles as a forester, senior forester, and deputy director. Since 2006, he has been working in central forest administration, holding positions such as Chief Expert, Head of Department, and Director of the Directorate for the Control of Forest Territories and Hunting Management Protection. As of late 2023, he serves as the Deputy Executive Director of the Executive Forest Agency (EFA).

Eng. Dolores Belorechka

Expert in “Forest Policy and Analysis”

Head of the “Science and International Activities” Department in the Forestry Directorate, Еxecutive Forest Аgency

Eng. Dolores Belorechka was born on June 10, 1978, in Sofia. In 2001, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Forestry, and in 2003, a master’s degree from the University of Forestry – Sofia. She began her career as a junior expert in the state forest administration (National Forestry Directorate) and subsequently worked as a senior expert, chief expert, director of a department, and head of a division. She has 20 years of experience in international cooperation and Eurocoordination in the field of forests and the forestry sector. She served as co-chair within the framework of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2018. She has held managerial and expert positions within projects implemented by the Еxecutive Forest agency. She is a member and active participant in various working formats of the European Council and European Commission. She has completed numerous pieces of training and qualifications. She is fluent in English, and proficient in German and Russian.

 

ENG. Zlatka Azmanova

Project Coordinator, SEFC FC Sliven

Eng. Zlatka Azmanova graduated from University of Forestry in 1986 with a subject “Forestry”. In 1983 she started working as a  forester in State forest enterprise Tvardica. Her career spans from the whole spectrum in the forestry sector:  head of unit, payroll officer, head of unit “Forest economy”, deputy director in SFE Tvardica. In 1991 she qualifies as a Specialist on management/ manager in the UNWE-Sofia.  From 1999 till 2011 she is a chief expert on Forest management in RDF Sliven and from 2011 is a head of unit Forest management in SEFC Sliven. From 2019 to 2020 she is director of RDF Sliven. In march 2022 she is appointed as deputy director of the SEFC Sliven.

 The longstanding work of eng. Azmanova gains her well deserved professional recognition of the Bulgarian foresters. In 2021 she received the award Forester of the year. A major imperative in her professional and personal principals is compliance with the laws in the forest sector and the best traditions. Eng. Azmanova beliefs that caring for the forest and preserving it for the future generations is of paramount importance and the fact that she has dedicated her whole life and career to the Bulgarian forest exemplifies this. 

 

Vanya Ratarova

Project Coordinator, BSPB

Vanya Ratarova has graduated her bachelor degree in Ecology and environmental protection at the University of Forestry in Sofia. She is Master in Sustainable Forestry and Land Use Management from the Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, Germany. Vanya has participated at the development and implementation of more than 20 national and international projects in the field of forest protection, biodiversity and management of protected territories.

She is a member of BSPB since 2000. Vanya loves birdwatching, walking in forests and cooking. Her favorite bird is the wood nuthatch.

 

ENG. Ivaylo todorov

Project Coordinator for NEFC

Eng. Ivaylo Yordanov Todorov is born on 29th of December 1981 in Silistra. He graduated from the Mechanics and Technology School in the city and later from the Shumen university “Bishop Konstantin Preslavski” with major in “Ecology and nature conservation”. He has a MA in Forestry in University of Forestry in Sofia. From 2007 he works in the forest sector on different positions in RDF Shumen, SFE Shumen and NFBF. He is a head of unit “Use and changes in the forest territories” in NEFC.
