Transmitters
We follow the movements and migration of 12 young Lesser Spotted Eagles tagged with GPS-GSM transmitters in Bulgaria. The tags were fitted on juvenile birds, before fledging from 2020 to 2023 in SPA “Sakar”, “Derventski vuzvihsenia”, “Western Strandzha”, “Suha Reka” and Rusenski Lom Nature Park.
The tracking of the eagles via satellite transmitters will help to identify the threats and mortality causes for the birds during migration and will allow us to broaden our knowledge about the species’ migration route, preferred stop-over sites along the lengthy migration, its temporary habitats and other important aspects of the LSE life cycle.
