Five photo traps were installed in the nests of Lesser Spotted Eagles in the protected areas “Sakar”, “Derventski vazvishenia” and “Zapadna Strandzha”. The purpose of the photo traps is to collect important information about the behaviour and biology of the species, as well as the presence of threats. The collected data will be used to determine the feeding habits of the birds, their nesting behaviour related to the rearing of the chicks, as well as the presence of different types of enemies.
The activity is implemented within the framework of the project “Conservation measures for the Lesser Spotted Eagle and its habitats in Bulgaria” funded by the EU LIFE Programme.
