On September 4 and 5, the Kite Festival was held in Shabla. For the 9th year, it became an occasion to fly beautiful kites in the sky, but also to talk about the protection of birds and nature in the area. In one of the areas in our country, where the lesser spotted eagle is found, we told the residents of the surrounding area and the guests about interesting facts about the eagle, about its lifestyle and about the threats that the species faces.
For curious children who want to learn more, we have prepared a short quiz with prizes. And a proud kite flew into the sky with a call to protect the little lesser spottedald eagle.
The Kite Festival is organized by Shabla Municipality as part of the activities of the Action Plan for the Conservation of the Red-breasted Goose, financed under the OPE. The first edition of the festival was held in 2011 with the idea and organization of BSPB within the LIFE project “Protection of the wintering population of the globally endangered red-breasted goose”.
