Enhancing competencies and the effectiveness of inspections for compliance with hunting and forestry legislation was the main focus of the regional training on forest management and control, held at the end of February in the Training and Experimental Forest Enterprise “Stefan Avramov” in the Yundola area.

The training was led by officials from the Executive Forest Agency. It was attended by the management, experts, legal advisors, and forest inspectors from RFD Pazardzhik.

During the working meeting, the latest regulatory provisions were presented and discussed, aiming to exchange best practices and identify measures for improving control over forestry, hunting, and environmental legislation. The discussions aimed to optimize the work of teams and strengthen cooperation between institutions responsible for forest area control. Key aspects of conducting effective administrative and penal proceedings were also reviewed.

A key point of the discussions was outlining preventive measures involving all institutions and non-governmental organizations. Joint inspections by forestry structures alongside representatives of the Ministry of Interior, BSPB, and the Ministry of Environment and Water were highlighted as examples of successful collaboration in monitoring biodiversity conservation and ensuring compliance with existing legislation.

The regional training on forest management and control was organized within the framework of the “LIFE for Eagle’s habitats” project.
