350 children from the city of Sliven took part in lessons on forest pedagogy. They were held in the period 11–13 May 2022 by experts from Executive Forest Agency and the South East State Enterprise of Sliven, part of the project team “Life for Eagle’s Habitats”. During the 16 educational campaigns, first- and fourth-grade children from 3 different schools learned about wild animals in Bulgarian forests and how to distinguish their steps, about the preservation of the biological diversity, about the protection of forests from fires and disasters, as well as about the role of the lesser spotted eagle, its habitats and its protection.

The events were organized in implementation of the project “Conservation measures for the Lesser Spotted Eagle and its habitats in Bulgaria” LIFE18/NAT/BG/001051 under the LIFE program of the EU.

Training campaigns are also planned in other Bulgarian cities, and will inform about them in due course.
